Villas on the Park

Villas on the Park provides 80 units of permanent supportive housing for the formerly homeless in downtown San Jose. Site elements include an outdoor entry courtyard, staff patio, perimeter landscaping, community podium-level courtyard with break-out space for one-on-one meetings, and a roof deck with community gardens.

JETT blended the inspiration of health, healing, and nature to create outdoor therapy opportunities for this transformative community. The entry and courtyard create a feeling of healing and hope with the play of light, water, and figurative planting, while the podium courtyard design is inspired by Nature + Nurture. A story wall and large tables create community-building spaces that support residents. A rooftop garden provides a sense of self-sufficiency and achievement with common kitchen space, community garden, rain chain, and festive lighting to complete the metaphorical journey.
